2. Why did Lone Pine Hotel implement the Smoke-Free Hotel policy?
Majority of our guests commented that they would be more comfortable in a non-smoking hotel environment. The only way to provide this experience would be to not allow smoking within the building. We have trained our associates on ways to respond to potential violations of the policy. For example, housekeepers are trained to observe signs of smoking in the hotel. Guests are reminded upon arrival at the hotel that smoking is not permitted inside the building. Booking confirmation e-mail also include a reference to the policy. They are also required to sign on the registration form that they understand the penalty should they be found smoking in the room.
